
Prior to relocating to California in 2003, John spent his career
as a commercial banker, including fourteen years overseas with Chase Manhattan
Bank.
He began his career in bank operations, later making a career
change into the lending side of banking. He had operations assignments in
Vietnam, Germany, Liberia and Bahrain as well as project finance and trade
finance assignments in Australia and Indonesia. After returning to the
United States in 1986, John joined Midlantic National Bank, an east coast based
regional bank, where he became Senior Vice President - Corporate Banking and
later joined New Jersey’s largest state chartered bank, as Executive Vice
President and Senior Lending Officer. In this latter position, in
addition to being responsible for all credit functions, John was a member of
the Executive Management Committee which was responsible for all strategic bank
issues and direction.
While in New Jersey, John served as a trustee of the Tri-County
Scholarship Fund, a volunteer organization of corporate executives in northern
New Jersey which raised funds and awarded scholarships to inner city youth
attending private elementary schools. In California, John serves as a
management counselor with SCORE, a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration,
and also serves in a personal coaching capacity for executive directors of
non-profit organizations who are clients of Executive Coaches of Orange
County.
John graduated from Providence College, in Providence, RI and
from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, in Glendale,
AZ. He was a US Army officer and is a Vietnam veteran. John resides
in San Clemente and has three grown children, two daughters and a son.
