    Scott has been CEO of De Long Industries Group, Inc. since its inception late in 1998, the company continues to use the trade name Public Telephone. From 1990 to 1998 he was CEO of Public Access Communications, Inc. this sold to Pacific Coin and the William Simon Group early in 1998. The new company also branded as Public Telephone was developed with a unique suite of services designed for the healthcare industry, and the company has branched out into Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity, and have quickly become the leading experts in recovering telecommunications from outages, either man made or natural disasters.

    Mr. De Long has been active in industry trade associations for several years acting as a member of the Board of the California Payphone Association (CPA) as well as the American Public Communications Council (APCC). He was chairman of both boards during his tenure.A founding member of of the American Public Communications Council Services, this is the for profit division of the APCC, Mr. De Long held a position on the board of that organization until he elected to resign the post in 2010. He has written articles published in industry periodicals and has frequently been asked to speak at industry conventions.

    Scott earned his Associates degree from Santa Ana College his Bachelors of Arts from Brigham Young University, and has attended the University of California, Berkeley earning a certificate in their Executive Leadership program, at the prestigious Haas School of Business.

    While at Santa Ana College, he was captain and MVP of their baseball team and still holds records for stolen bases for both single season and career. At BYU, he was also captain, and earned the prestigious Cameron Tuckett Award and national recognition for his play in the field. He has coached baseball at both the college level (Santa Ana College) and high school level (Fountain Valley High School).

    As CEO of Public Telephone his role is to set the vision for the company, and insure its implementation. He developed our Suite of Services concept and recently, he has enacted a program called University of Public Telephone, which is a growth program for the employees of the company.  This program is designed with Positive Thinking, Success, Mental Toughness, Ethics, Management, Leadership, and Additional Business Topics, as the basis of its General Education program.  Each participating Employee can choose from Finance, Operations or Sales as a Major.  Special attention is made towards Leadership and Management for select employees.

    He is married to his wife Cheryl, who is a customer service representative with the company, and has 6 children, 3 of which are also employed at the firm.

    Ed Clark

     Vice President of Operations

    Ed Clark has an extensive background in the communications industry, as founder and President of the original Public Telephone, Public Access Communications, Inc. that sold to Pacific Coin in 1998.  Ed was the driving force that started the Public Telephone in the payphone business and became the foremost expert in that industry in the 90’s. After selling the assets of Public Access Communications, Ed worked for Pacific Coin for approximately two years as their Director of Operations, responsible for installations of new equipment across the US.  His role at De Long Industries Group, will certainly utilize his expertise in the payphone business, but he will also spearhead new programs, including Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity and the growth areas in technology like satellite and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

    Ed graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Economics, and played on their baseball team in the mid 80’s. He still has a passion for baseball and along with two other current Public Telephone employees, Scott De Long and Jack Upton, coached the freshman baseball team at his former school Fountain Valley High School for two years. One of those years he took a dedicated group of kids to a 25-3 record and Sunset League championship. He now coaches his own son’s little league team, and works with his daughter’s on their gymnastics and soccer careers.

    Ed is married with three children and resides in Huntington Beach.
